HUNTSVILLE ART CROWD HISTORY

The Huntsville Art Crowd was established in Muskoka about 18 years ago. In the beginning tHuntsville Art Crowd Summer Show 2007his small group of enthusiastic artists and craftsmen met informally to share their common interests in visual arts. A volunteer Board of Directors was formed to provide leadership and direction for this unincorporated, non-profit club. This Board is now responsible for coordinating at least three formal art/crafts shows per year, researching new venues, providing information and networking to members, administration and accountability of club funds, by laws and strategic planning for the future. We have six regularly scheduled Board meetings per year and an all members Annual Meeting each fall.

Our Mission:

The Huntsville Art Crowd is a not-for-profit arts club that provides a venue which encourages creativity and ongoing learning through networking and collegiality, while facilitating opportunities for the promotion and growth of visual and functional arts in the community.

SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY

The members of the club have in the past 3 years worked in partnership with several Muskoka Community and Charitable organizations to both promote the appreciation of Visual Arts in the community and support these partners in their fund raising and community support programs.

The club has in the past three years donated nearly $20,000 through the generous contributions of many of it’s members to Silent Auctions and raffle ticket sales as well as including these community partners in club sponsored artists’ shows.

The beneficiary organizations in the community are: The Huntsville Hospital Foundation, The Muskoka Literacy Council, The Crysalis Womens’ Shelter and the Huntsville Horticultural Society.

The members of the Huntsville Art Crowd are an enthusiastic and caring community organization that is making a difference to the people of Muskoka.
